Freebac-D780® is a process aid for the seafood processing industry, with liquid oxygen as an active ingredient.
The purpose of the product is to promote the metabolism of packaged live crustaceans and shellfish. Small amounts of oxygen (O2) are released very slowly over a period of up to 110 hours. Over time, the active oxygen parts are exhausted and it decays into water (H2O) and oxygen (O2).
The released oxygen promotes the well-being of the living crustaceans and shellfish. The slow release of oxygen promotes the metabolism of the crustaceans, keeping them alive and fresh for longer. The composition of the product is such that it has no disinfecting or decontaminating effect.
